I’m looking for an elegant ivory/cream two-piece set for my engagement. For the top, I’d like a structured and fitted bodice with a softly curved/square neckline, a defined waist and a peplum that gently flares over the hips. I love the short statement sleeves in the inspiration — slightly structured/capped, with delicate beading or hanging crystal details along the edge. For the skirt, I’d like it to be high-waisted, long and relatively straight/column-shaped, fitted neatly around the waist and hips and then falling elegantly to the floor. I don’t want a full or voluminous skirt. For the fabric, I’m imagining a warm ivory rather than bright white, with delicate embroidery and subtle champagne-gold/silver beadwork or crystals. I particularly like how the embellishment is concentrated on the bodice and becomes much more scattered and delicate down the skirt. Overall, I want it to feel romantic, feminine and luxurious, but still minimal and refined — special enough for an engagement, without looking like a wedding dress or being overly bridal.
