I have a degree in Visual Arts and Technology and have always had a penchant for mechanics. I fell in love with watchmaking many years ago when, as part of my academic work, I was fortunate enough to meet two great old-school watchmakers and learn the rudiments of watchmaking with them. A few years ago I went from hobby to profession and at the moment I have clients all over the world.

Like your cars engine, the performance of your watch's movement will deteriorate over time, if not cared for properly.
Servicing is completely disassembling the movement and cleaning the parts ultrasonically in special chemical solution that dissolves oil residue, dirt and dust.

The movement is then reassembled and special oils are applied to lubricate the essential parts as the watch is being put back together.

All gaskets disturbed will be replaced, since they are usually generic, relatively cheap and readily available. This will make sure your watch stays to the water-resistant specifications.

Once assembled the watch is tested and regulated electronically (timing machine) to ensure it is running correctly and within acceptable tolerances.

Apaixonei-me pela relojoaria há muitos anos quando, no âmbito do meu trabalho académico, tive a sorte de conhecer dois grandes relojoeiros da velha guarda e de aprender com eles os rudimentos da relojoaria. Há alguns anos, deixei de ser um hobby e passei a ser uma profissão e, atualmente, tenho clientes em todo o mundo.

Tal como o motor do seu carro, o desempenho do movimento do seu relógio irá deteriorar-se com o tempo se não for devidamente cuidado.
A manutenção consiste na desmontagem completa do movimento e na limpeza ultrassónica das peças numa solução química especial que dissolve os resíduos de óleo, sujidade e pó.

O movimento é então remontado e são aplicados óleos especiais para lubrificar as peças essenciais enquanto o relógio é remontado.

Todas as juntas danificadas serão substituídas, uma vez que são geralmente genéricas, relativamente baratas e facilmente disponíveis. Isto garantirá que o seu relógio cumpre as especificações de resistência à água.

Uma vez montado, o relógio é testado e regulado eletronicamente para garantir que está a funcionar corretamente e dentro de tolerâncias aceitáveis.
